NIRD & PR with technical support from JSLPS presents

National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR) with technical support from Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) and Project Implementing Agencies of DDU-GKYis offering “Skill DEED: A job oriented short term course in Skill Development” for enthusiastic and committed fresh graduates and dynamic young professionals. The course is challenging and is designed for university/college graduates who have a sense of determination, commitment and passion to work in the rural sector. They will acquire the right skills, knowledge and attitude for channelizing the aspirations of the underprivileged rural youth of the country, and transforming themselves into development professionals in the rural skilling ecosystem. These professionals, trained by NIRD&PR and JSLPS, on fulfilling the course requirements, will be placed in various job roles with Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) across the state of Jharkhand. They will be responsible for efficiently implementing various livelihood schemes like DDU-GKY & Roshni in their job roles. The programme will also enable the learners to establish themselves and build their career as specialists in public and private organisations in the larger skill development ecosystem. The DDU-GKY scheme of the Government of India will be the frame of reference for this programme.

Course Objectives

Develop critical and creative thinking about skill development in India and other countries.
Build competencies (knowledge, skill and attitude) required to implement skill development programmes and mould them into job-ready professionals for the skilling ecosystem, particularly in the rural development sector.

Mode of Learning

The candidates shall be guided by experienced professionals from the skill development division of the rural development sector through field immersion, classroom learning and internship.

The candidates after completion of course and qualifying on the above mentioned mode of assessment shall be awarded with a certificate.


Applicants will be screened on the basis of qualification, aptitude tests and interview and short-listed to join the course based on the job roles applied for. Throughout the course, they will be associated with a prospective employer who is a project implementing partner in this sector. If a candidate expresses interest for one role but is found suitable for another, he / she may be offered that role and attend the elective course suitable for that role.

Admission Procedure

The entire admission procedure is online. The eligible candidates can apply for registration online at Apply Now from 20-02-2020 to 28-02-2020 .Candidates should click on the signUp button top right corner then login and fill online application form, read the instructions carefully and fill-in the online application form giving accurate information. After filling up the online registration form the candidates should take a print out and retain a copy of online application form(s) for future reference.

Selection Procedure

Screening and selection will be based on the details provided in the online application form, hence it is necessary that only accurate, full and correct information is furnished by the applicants. The shortlisted candidates shall be intimated through e-mail to take an aptitude test and attend the interview.
